ReplyDeleteHey great seeing some of the gear Doug! Been GAS'n for a couple of those Wampler pedals and the RC booster as well to go along with the AC on my board. Great stuff, you are the man!!!
ReplyDeleteDougie, its called Monster playing. You should lend me your knowledge and hands for a weekend it would drive our guitar player crazy, nice job as always.

Very very nice tone Doug.
ReplyDeleteYour playing is very inspirational and makes a lot of people just want to play and learn ~ i love watching you play ~ feel is everything so to copy this style is ok but for me listening to you is way better !!
ReplyDeleteNice Doug.... as always...of course I liked your tone before you got all of the Wampler stuff, but progress moves us onwards and upwards. I really like Wampler's Brent Mason pedal, the big orange one? When it comes down to it, tone is mostly in the hands in the end, no matter how much sauce you put on that souffle. Thanks for this. You sound amazing every time, all the time!
ReplyDeleteNice video! I have the Wampler Ego Compressor too - read about it in the TDPRI.com forum. It's amazing - my secret weapon! I just wish I had it before I recorded our last album ;-)
ReplyDeleteQuestion for Doug -- it looks like you have the Ego Compressor routed before the OD pedals. Have you tried it placed after the OD pedals?
Great video Doug. I have been playing guitar for about 28 years. I am mostly a blues player with about a about year of classical playing as a foundation. I find that your excellent videos are the perfect fit for me. They fill out the country gap that I had in my playing. To me your teaching approach is personable and fun. I always look forward to days when I get the house to myself so I can fire up the guitar, amp, and Doug Seven instructional videos. My country playing has really bloomed due to your videos Playing in Circles, #4, and Hotter Licks and Killer One Liners. Man, just typing about this makes me want to go pick up my guitar right now, and I was getting ready for bed. who needs sleep when you have a guitar. Thanks Doug for unlocking the secrets of country music for us musicians who are always trying to add just a little more skill and heart to our playing every day. By the way, I have three Wamplar pedals and I love them.
ReplyDeleteP.S. I place my Wamplar Ego Squasher first in my signal chain right after my tuner as well. If you are interested in watching, I have a video on youtube(http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MzviVX89nmk) doing a demo of the Ego Squasher. It was for a contest that Brian Wamplar had. Somehow I ended up being the winner and got to select any one of his pedals as the prise. I picked the beautiful Hot Wired!
man can you play . Thanks doug !
ReplyDeleteROB !
gracias x enviarme material...me intereza y mucho
ReplyDeleteGRACIAS!!!
Luvvin all your videos - I think I have them all now. The Vince Gill stuff is my fave so far, as I'm one of his biggest fans. Thanks for helping me get MUCH closer to his tone. Keep 'am coming, Doug.
ReplyDeleteWhat a gift!! Not only an insight to Vince Gills sound but also hints at Brads too, AND intro to Brian Wamplers gear, PLUS Dr Dougs own words of wisdom & advice,I've noted the "top-secret" amp settings & use of George Ls too, BARGAIN!! I already got the Vince dvd from y'all & found it sooo good, just to watch, never mind learn from! For years & years I've only used a clean amp & Korg A3 rack with my tele or strat, kinda similar to Albert Lee,& y'know I dont even get anywhere near sounding like him!! So thankyou Dr Doug for these & future insights, please keep on pickin to the chickens come home to roost & the cows break down the ole barn door! I may look like a city slicker but I'm still just a "Country Boy" & with your wonderful tuition thats the way it'll stay, my most grateful thanks & kind regards to you & your team at SGL, JMB17
